I use this for self study. The beginning levels were great and super helpful. However in this level, the answer key does not include the answers for the listening sections. Free answers I get why they don't include answers, but answers for true or false sections or "write the words you hear" really?? How is anyone supposed to improve without answers? I can't just find a random Korean person and have them listen to the sections for me then tell me the answers. That's too inconvinient. Bottom line, INCLUDE ALL ANSWERS!
I'm most of the way through self-studying this book after going through the first two beginner books in a college Korean course. It works well with the workbook and online audio files.I mostly used this for grammar and some vocabulary, but there is a good mix of conversation scenarios, culture, and colloquialisms as well. As with just about any learning language textbook, it works best when combined with a variety of other study materials.There are also online resources for this book (answers, audio, etc.).
The Korean Characters are all blank in the Kindle version on two different Android devices. Samsung Tablet and Pixel Phone. The disclaimer does say that not all devices will work, but it does seem to indicate that Android tablets and phones should work. How do you get help from Amazon? It isn't clear where to lodge a complaint if anywhere? Just in case this was a one off I bought the kindle version of IK Intermediate 2. Same problem.Figured out how to get in touch with Amazon. There is a problem with the Kindle book. They are working on it.
Great resource! As I said in my reviews of the workbooks, the textbooks should also have an answer key for the exercises given in each chapter. I eventually stopped doing them as I studied because my professor doesn't grade them and there is no way for me to tell if I've gotten them correct.
I've been a beginner for around a year now and it's a great book as my commute is long. I don't have too many other opportunities to sit down and study other than during my commute and it's a resourceful text as everything that you need to know to complete it is within the book itself.If i must give a point of improvement, it'd be that they can provide more exercise examples within the textbook so that i don't have to spend more $ on a separate workbook.
I want my money back Amazon. The description claims this digital version is compatible with Kindle devices. I downloaded Amazon Kindle for Android devices to use it on my phone. And there are NO Hangul characters displayed here.
Great book for learning Korean. The accompanying website is a little lacking (needs to be updated), but overall a great buy. I do have a teacher that goes thru the book and workbook with me, but I think it would work perfectly for self-learners as well.
